Microchipping – InVision Animal Services

Quick Microchipping service can also be done from the comfort of your own home. I can chip dogs, cats, rabbits, and small mammals. Puppies and Kittens can be chipped from 6 weeks of age and upwards.

I chip with Petlog microchips which is the UK’s biggest database company. During my time working in the vets, I experienced on a daily basis how frustrating it is when animals got lost/found. This is not only a stressful time for the owners but also the pets. I decided to train with PeddyMark to help offer competitive pricing but also get many more pets back to their rightful owners quickly.

What Are Microchips?

Microchips are small devices around the size of a grain of rice. The microchip is inserted under the animal’s skin, between the shoulder blades. It will be inserted quickly via an injection, and this will stay under the skin. The animal will not feel the microchip afterward as there’s a specially coated capsule around it. The capsule helps keep the microchip protected meaning it doesn’t break down and will last the duration of the animal’s life. The chip is coded with a unique number that can only be read by a scanning device. Microchips do not store personal data, only the unique number. If your animal is found and scanned, the microchip database can be accessed by professional organisations, like vets or rescue centers. They will be able to access your details to reunite your pet to through your details. Please be sure to keep all these details up to date.

Petlog Microchips

The microchips I use are Petlog. Petlog is the UK’s biggest database company. During my time working in the vets, I experienced on a daily basis how frustrating it is when animals got lost/found. In 2015 it became legislation that all dogs were to be chipped before the age of 8weeks old. It has recently come to light with cats where it is under review at the moment. It has suggested that microchipping to be made mandatory for all cats by 20weeks of age. This isn’t legislation yet, but soon will be. There are further details on the links below:
Dogs and Cats: 6 – 8weeks old (depending on size). Rabbits and other small mammals: 8 – 16weeks old
Not long at all, under a minute to place the chip. The longest part is me filling in the your details to put on the database.
When implanting a chip it is little to no discomfort. Some might yelp but it is very quick.
The microchips are very small, they are the size of a grain of rice. Your animal wont feel the chip after implanted as it will sit between the pets shoulder blades.
Yes, I can offer a discount for litters. Please get in touch to discuss further.
